The Second Coming of Christ

"Looking for that Blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of
the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ" (Titus 2:13).

Jesus is coming again! He promises, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also" (John 14:3). Paul explains the second coming of Christ as follows: "For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the cloud, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord" (1Thess. 4:16-17).

Paul then concludes, "Wherefore comfort one another with these words" (1Thess. 4:18). There is great comfort to be found in the knowledge of the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior. The truth of His promise to return keeps our hearts from being troubled and afraid (John 4:1).

Where is the promise of His coming? The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night... " (2Pet. 3:4, 8-10).

Jesus said, "Surely I come quickly" (Rev. 22:20). "Even so, come, Lord Jesus" (Rev. 22:20).

What a glorious day it will be when Jesus shall come again.I look forward to that blessed day when I will put on incorruption and immortality, because death has been swallowed up in victory. Praise the Lord!
