Joy Full

Jesus wants us to have Joy, period; and that our Joy may be full. But why is Joy important in the believer's life? Nehemiah 8:10 tell us, "Do not grieve, for the Joy of the Lord is your strength!"

Therefore, Joy produces strength, strength to overcome life's challenges. When we were new born babes in Christ, we were given power to be an overcomer and have victory in our lives. Did you know that we're called to fight the good fight of faith. Yes, but we cannot fight if we have lost our hope and Joy.

Perhaps you are tired of fighting for your marriage and ready to throw in the towel. Maybe you're sick and tired of being sick and tired. Maybe you're experiencing one financial crisis after another. Maybe you're having trouble with your children, and wondering if they're ever going to straighten up and cease being rebellious.

Jesus has a word for us. If we ask anything in the name of Jesus, He promises He will bring it to pass in our lives. Jesus said, "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it" (John 14:13-15).

Jesus said if we ask anything in His name "I will do it." Yes, He will do it. We have His Word of Guarantee. We can take it to the bank and cash it. It is good for any amount. Jesus also said, "Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it you... that your joy may be full" (John 16:23-24).

The name of Jesus speaks to us of the power and authority of God. It assures us that He will fulfill His promises to us. When Jesus told us to pray using His name, He was giving us the power of Attorney to represent Him and all He possesses.

At the gate called beautiful, Peter said to the crippled beggar, "Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk" (Acts 3:6). Immediately, the man leaped up and began to walk and went into the Temple praising God. You see, Peter used "the name that is above every name" and he got result. We too can use it and get the desired result because it's our privilege to do so.

We are representing Him when we are praying in His name, and so we must be sure that our prayers are in agreement with Him and His word. That kind of praying brings results because it is revealed by the promises of His word.

The Apostle John wrote, "And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, he heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him" (1John 5:14-15).

When we possess Joy the Father is glorified in the Son. Therefore, go ahead and rejoice in the Lord, that your Joy might be full.
