Prayer of Faith Gets the Job Done

Are all your needs met today? If not, why not? According to the Word of God, it’s either because you’re not praying about them at all or because when you do pray, you’re praying incorrectly.

So, what does it mean to pray incorrectly? In many cases it means to pray without expecting results. Many believers do that, you know. They use prayer as a kind of spiritual wishbone; in other words a ritual. “This probably won’t do much good,” they think, “but who knows? It won’t hurt to give it a try.”

If you want to test whether someone believes that God will answer the prayer they just offered on your behalf, ask them “what’s going to happen now?” If they respond, “We’ll have to wait and see.” Then you know it’s a futile prayer. But if they say, “God is going to answer” or “God is going to meet your need,” then you know, it was a prayer of faith (Heb. 11:6).

If uncertainty has been your attitude to prayer, then change it; else, you’re just wasting precious time beating the air! Start getting serious about prayer.
  • Stop praying just because it’s proper.
  • Stop praying just because someone insisted you do when you were a child growing up.
Start praying to get results! Pray “in the Name of Jesus” according to the Word of God and begin expecting to receive what you ask for every single time. You may be thinking, “Isn’t that a little presumptuous?” No! But it’s bold, and you’ve a scriptural right to be bold. Let me tell you something I know about Prayer, if it doesn't change your circumstance, it will change you!

According to the Word of God, you have a standing invitation from your heavenly Father to “come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb. 4:16). Who would not take up that offer? I think you should do just that! Now having boldness by a new and living way, let’s draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith for He’s faithful that promised (Heb. 10:19-23).

So, did you know that, according to the Word of God, there’s no lack in the body of Christ? Everything we could ever need, every problem we could ever face has been covered by the blood of Jesus. His “exceeding great and precious promises” (2Pet.1:4) have supplied it all.

Why then do so many of us keep on suffering lack? Because we haven’t, as Hebrews 5:13 says, become skillful in the word of righteousness. It takes skill to apply the Word of God. Sometimes we just sling the word around and try to use it any old way.

According to Ephesian 6:18, prayer is a weapon for the believer. Who wants to be careless with a weapon? But isn’t that what we do? We must however; use the weapon wisely against the enemy to get results. Instead, we pray some ignorant prayer and then say, “Oh well, God knows what I mean” then expect it to be answered. Oh no, that kind of approach will not yield results!

Consider this, we live in an “instant” society where everything is quick and easy; and too many of us are letting that instant mentally penetrate into our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. When someone needs healing, we dab a little oil on the forehead and say, “Glory to God!” then move on to something else. Often it doesn’t take any longer than “In the name of Jesus be healed!” But sometimes there’s something else that must be done.

The time has come for us to shake off that “instant” mentality and realize that there’re situations where we’re going to have to take some time to pray in the Holy Ghost; times when we’re going to have to sit and listen for God’s instructions.

So, if you’ve come up short in any area of life, whether it’s healing or finances or anything else, determine to develop your word skills where that area is concerned. Get out your bible,
  • Read through all the Healing scripture,
  • Read through all the Miracle scriptures.
  • Read through all the Promises of God.
  • Read through all the Blessings of Abraham.
Meditate on them. Ask God to speak to you through them and to enlighten you about the situation you’re facing. Don’t just sling the word around; dig into it. Fellowship with your Father over it and let Him show you how to apply it skillfully and faithfully, and eventually, you’ll lack no good thing.

Finally, when you go to God in full assurance of faith, with Spirit inspired prayer; you do know what He’s going to do, right? He’s going to answer you. He’s going to meet your need exactly as you asked Him. Start expecting Him to do it today. God bless!

Let us Arise and Build

Despite the relentless opposition of Sanballat and his associates, Nehemiah rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem even in difficult times. But when the enemies saw the wall being built they purposed to attack and prevent it from happening. Therefore, don’t be afraid of the enemy, fight for your brothers, for your children, for your family and for your future.

Speak Faith-filled words! That’s what changes things. They’ll move mountains into the sea. They’ll turn sickness into health. They’ll turn a sinner into a saint. They’ll also take a sin-laden nation and turn it into Gods own country.

That’s right! If we believers would back up the prayers we’ve been praying for this nation with words of faith instead of doubt and discouragement, we’d soon begin to see spiritual revival in our country.

You see, God promised us that if we, His people, would humble ourselves and pray and seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, He would heal our land (2 Chron. 7:14). Now, let me tell you, He’ll do it. Yes, you can take that to the bank! There're people praying all over this country doing just what that promise requires. Join those who are already storming the mercy seat of God and see what great things He’ll do for us.

But, even so, you don’t hear many people saying, “This is great! God is healing the land.” You don’t hear people speaking out by faith the promise of God. Instead, you hear them saying, “Oh my, did you hear what those terrorist are doing?” or some other destructive thing they’ve seen on television.

Listen, if we speak death, we’ll reap death (Prov. 18:21). Stop magnifying what those terrorists and the opposition are doing, and start telling what God is doing! God said He is healing this land. Do you love this country? Stand up for justice, stand up for liberty, stand up for righteousness and be a patriot. The position you take today is creating the future for your children. What will that look like?

We must start speaking about this country by faith instead of going around repeating Fake news all the time. Of course, that will sound odd to most people. Some of them may believe we’ve gone over the edge. But that’s nothing new. Remember, God is a present help in times of trouble (Psa. 46:1).

Let me tell you something. One small group of believers who are listening to, trusting in and speaking out God’s word are more powerful than all the devils on earth.  One small group of believers is more powerful than a whole army of unbelieving doomsday prophets. Their unbelief will not make the faith of God of no effect!

Learn to turn a deaf ear to all the Fake news floating around today. Stay focused on the accomplishments and just start praising and thanking God for His intervention and deliverance. Every word of praise we speak today releases faith in our heart and encourages others.

Demonstrate your God-given faith by taking a firm stand that things are changing for the better in this country. Settle that in your heart right now as you pray and speak it out. “Call forth those things that be not as though they were” (Rom. 4:17); God is healing the land!

All things are possible with God’s help, therefore “Let us arise and build!” (Nehemiah 2:11-20).

If My People!

If My People is a much-needed call to prayer for our nation and leaders during a time of unrest, political transition, and turmoil.

On March 20, 2015, at Convocation, North America's largest weekly gathering of Christian students, U.S. Congressman Trey Gowdy spoke to students about their identity and conviction.

It is my hope that you would be inspired to turn to God for His guidance and wisdom to face the challenges that life unleashes on us each and every day. Therefore, let us get into the habit of turning to God and trusting HIM no matter what.

I invite everyone who truly cares about America to take a moment to listen and reflect on this speech.

“…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV).

There are numerous promises of God in Scripture. However, in each promise, God pledges that something will (or will not) be done or given or come to pass. These are not flippant, casual promises, they are rock-solid, unequivocal commitments made by God Himself.

Because God is faithful, the recipients of the divine promises can have full assurance that what God has pledged will indeed be realized (Numbers 23:19). Here are just a few of the promises that God has made:
  • God promised that if we search for Him we will find Him (Deuteronomy 4:29).
  • He is not playing hard-to-get. “Our God is near us whenever we pray to him” (Deuteronomy 4:7).
  • God promised protection for His children (Psalm 121). He was the vigilant watchman over all Israel.
  • God promised that His love will never fail (1 Chronicles 16:34). He is faithful in every way.
As God promised Israel that their sin could be forgiven, their prosperity restored, and their nation healed (2 Chronicles 7:14); so, He will do the same for us if we trust Him.

Repentance is always an excellent place to start. It opened the road to fellowship and blessing. God promised blessing for all who will delight themselves in His Word (Psalm 1:1–3).

Simple faith has its rewards. God promised salvation to all who believe in His Son (Romans 1:16–17), and promised peace when we pray (Philippians 4:6–7). His peace is protection. It will “guard your hearts and your minds in Christ.” God promised to supply our needs (Matthew 6:33; Philippians 4:19).

We are called to be His people to do His will on earth and we are given special privileges. “In biblical times, a name was more than just a personal means of identification. Names conveyed authority, character and even displayed a certain fate and/or destiny. God’s name encompassed His whole identity. It expressed His power and His omnipresence. His name clearly defined His relationship to His people.”

God says we are His people, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1Pet. 2:9). To be called by God’s Name means that we are an elect people, chosen to spread His light around us.

Today, if we were to take out only one thing out of this verse, let it be this truth: God calls us ‘My people.’ We belong to the Sovereign Lord, the same God who sent His only Son as a ransom for us. He is the same God who will come again to judge the earth.
